For more than 30 years, Alex the African Grey and researcher Dr. Irene Pepperberg worked together, unlocking some of the mysteries of parrot intelligence. Their work has not only led to new insights into the care of pet birds, but has also encouraged the conservation of wild parrots and veterinary studies into parrot psychological diseases. In addition, the learning methods used at The Alex Foundation have been adapted to help autistic children communicate more effectively.
