
Dr Bruce Hunter
Dr Bruce Hunter is a Professor in the Department of Pathobiology, Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph. He obtained his DVM in from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. He worked for several years in private veterinary practice, and then obtained a MSc in Avian/Wildlife Pathology from the University of Saskatchewan. He currently teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate DVM programs and maintains an active research program.
Workshop Details:
Birds have many special physiological and anatomical adaptations that make them unique and special. Some of these unique features may increase their risk for certain health and disease issues. This workshop will explore unique features that make birds birds and parrots parrots, and will emphasize anatomic and physiological features that we as owners and veterinarians should consider when we design health programs, management systems and diets.
NOTE: real dissected specimens will be set out during this workshop—it may not be suitable for everyone.
